To-days ride was to Hudson’s which is very close to Spier & in a most glorious setting, the driveway down to the restaurant has it’s own little safari with, cow, buck, ostrich, zebra & horses. I understand there are many other animals to be seen as well, I even heard one member say that if you walk to the end of the beautiful gardens you can see the lions, what an amazing place & must be even more beautiful in the summer months.
We had a wonderful turn out of old bikes today & one really ugly modern one (every one to their own taste), it was a lovely sight to see all the bikes in a line with their proud owners & riders by their sides, gives one a warm fuzzy feeling after quite a chilly ride through.
You have to admit you do not see a sight like this very often & we never tire of admiring each others machines.
The restaurant was very welcoming with a roaring fire, which was just right, warming the area but not too hot. The main table was beautifully decked out in white table clothes and napkins which is something we are not used to as bikers, they normally hide the silver when they hear that we are coming, but unfortunately the original number of 24 people had grown to 36 so the rest of the people were not quite as lucky with the decor. The breakfast was extremely nice and not too expensive, some people had a long wait for their food but to be expected with a large group all wanting food at the same time. So a most enjoyable ride ending with a lovely breakfast and ride home.
