Single cylinder bikes of 500cc normaly have long strokes and big pistons the 16H has a 100mm stroke with a 80mm diameter piston, its also quite a beast to kick start so an exhaust vale lifter is fitted, settings for timing (manual ignition advance and retard) and choke, to get the engine started
The age of the bike made me decide to strip all parts, the frame and sheet metal parts were zinc plated, so that I carry out a pre-build with the mechanical parts. thus any broken or missing frame or sheet metal parts that need making or modifing can be rectified prior to finish painting.
I take a photo of all parts requiring chroming or zinc plating so I can ensure that all the parts are returned.
The wheel rims were in good condition for chroming, with the addition of new spokes and nipples were brought back to better then original.
